Long Time, No Update
And then when I finally DO update, it's just to ask for your help. I'm such a prick!
Here's the deal:
My good friends in the band Dominic Castillo and the Rock Savants have just stumbled on to an amazing opportunity. They've been playing small clubs all along the U.S. for years and years now, promoting their amazing music to crowds of all sizes and often making just enough money for gas and a few burgers. They sometimes sleep in a van (and occasionally it IS down by the river). They are tireless in their efforts to promote the rock. And their flavor of rock is amazing. Their records are awesome and they are "The Sh-t" live. They are, by far, my favorite unsigned band.
Just recently, they were picked as one of 10 finalists in an Interscope Records/Doritos/MySpace contest to win a record contract and have their video featured during the Superbowl. (Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas was one of the people who helped get them to the finals.) This could finally be their big break.
So I'm calling in all my favors to try to make this a reality for Dominic Castillo and Co. Here's what you can do to help me (and the crew). Click on the image below and vote for them.
